Our Team

Misty Hagy Goodwin serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Knoxville–Knox County Community Action Committee (CAC). She began her career with CAC in 2001 as a case manager in Project LIVE, dedicating her early years to helping seniors remain safely and independently in their homes. Over the past two decades, she has advanced through a range of leadership roles, including Director of Social Services and Chief Program Officer, helping to shape the agency’s programs in housing, workforce development, energy assistance, and family support.

Under her leadership, CAC continues to build on its legacy of service, collaboration, and innovation. The agency’s mission is to promote self-sufficiency and improve lives through responsive, community-based programs. CAC remains focused on meeting the complex needs of children, families, and older adults by connecting them to resources that promote stability, opportunity, and inclusion.

For over sixty years, CAC has been “Helping People. Changing Lives.” in Knoxville and Knox County, with a goal to help residents become economically self-sufficient and have access to health care, nutrition, education, improved housing, and employment opportunities, as well as the ability to engage in the future of their own community.
