Happy 60th Birthday Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee - Community Action Partnership National Office, Tennessee Association of Community Action, and the Community Action network all across the country. 🎂 🎉

On this day in 1964, Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Economic ...Opportunity Act, as part of his war on poverty, which created Community Action Agencies to coordinate local antipoverty efforts and funds programs such as Head Start, Job Corps, Community Health Centers, Upward Bound, the Work Experience Program, Neighborhood Youth Corps, Volunteers in Service to America (AmeriCorps VISTA), Legal Services, and federal work study programs. 🏡

To celebrate, CAC's People Experience Team, in partnership with staff across the agency, distributed 500 cupcakes to CAC locations all across Knoxville and Knox County to take a moment to savor this sweet landmark occasion as we look towards the future and how we can continue to serve our community. ❤️
