Community Action for Affordable Neighborhoods (CAAN)
Community Action for Affordable Neighborhoods (CAAN) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting low-and-moderate-income individuals and families in Knoxville and Knox County.
The purpose of CAAN is to help the Knoxville community find decent affordable housing and to enrich their lives through financial counseling, real estate guidance, sustainable energy-efficient home construction and repair, utility assistance, food resources, education and training, and general support.
CAAN is part of the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee (CAC) and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of community representatives who represent a cross-sector of Knoxville-Knox County neighborhoods.

CAAN Meeting Schedule:
The Community Action for Affordable Neighborhoods (CAAN) Board of Directors meet annually on the fourth Wednesday in October at the LT Ross Building, 2247 Western Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Additional meetings may be called to address emerging community needs.
