CAC AmeriCorps


AmeriCorps is a national service program, “the Peace Corps at Home,” that utilizes a local corps of working volunteers who commit to a year of service building communities and solving problems.

Eligible participants: U.S. citizens who are over 17 yrs. old and have a high school diploma.

Members earn a monthly living allowance, health insurance, and receive an educational award of $5,550 for tuition and/or student loan repayments after completion of program.

Knox County CAC’s community service area is focused on environmental service learning. Our program improves air and water quality, teaches science in K-12 schools, grows food for those in need and conducts energy conservation activities (home energy audits).
