Knox County CAC Transit Ride Guide Request Service: Knox County CAC Transit reservations can be made up to one month in advance. To schedule a trip, passengers should call Knox County CAC Transit at 524-0319 no later than 11:00 a.m. the day before transportation is needed. Passengers should be ready for a pick-up at least one hour plus drive time before the scheduled appointment time. Return Information: Passengers should ask the vehicle operator for an Information Card listing the phone number for Knox County CAC Transit. Please keep this card in order to call us when you are ready for a return trip. Knox County CAC Transit will make every effort to arrive within one hour plus drive time after you call or have pre-scheduled your return trip. Every effort will be made to notify the passenger if the vehicle operator is running late due to any uncontrollable circumstances. In order to insure timeliness of service, the vehicle operators can wait only five minutes at the pick-up and drop-off locations. Cancellations should be made at least two hours before the scheduled pick-up or return time. Assistance: The Knox County CAC Transit vehicle operators are required to assist every passenger on and off the vehicle and to provide door-to-door assistance as needed. Passengers are encouraged to bring an escort or attendant to assist them if needed. The escort or attendant rides free. For wheelchair passengers, Knox County CAC Transit has a one step policy. This means that the vehicle operators are required to assist wheelchair passengers up or down only one step or curb. All wheelchairs must be equipped with functional brakes and foot rests. Only service animals are allowed on the Knox County CAC Transit vehicle. The vehicle operators are required to assist passengers with packages.
