Program Specialist
Position requires a detail-oriented person with excellent communication, customer service, computer, and community resource skills. Will assist with implementing and sustaining the development of a unique volunteer assisted transportation service for seniors and persons with disabilities in Knox County; assisting callers with access to transportation services. Must be able to provide assistance to passengers, including people with disabilities and those who use wheelchairs, as required.
Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed) and a good driving record is a must. DOT physical and drug screen required. Preferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited college in a related field, or an equivalent of education and experience. Provide case management and financial assistance to individuals and families in need of homeless prevention service. Determine eligibility, conduct assessments, develop housing plans, and coordinate resources. Minimum qualifications require Bachelor Degree in Social Service and two years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. VEHICLE OPERATORS NEEDED
Reliable, caring person needed to work full-time or part-time. Available schedules include daytime, evenings, nights, and weekends. A valid Tennessee Driver's License and an excellent driving record are required. Must be able to assist passengers on and off the vehicle, including those with disabilities and those in wheelchairs. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds, read, write, compute, and have good communications skills. Must be able to pass DOT physical exam, drug screen, and national criminal background check. Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred (assistance in obtaining CDL will be provided to applicants selected.). Starting hourly rate with CDL is $9.74 per hour.
